I'm David Blumenstein, a service designer and visual communicator in Melbourne. My background is in animation and interactive media.

I'm a cartoonist/comics journalist for outlets like The Guardian, Australian MAD, The Nib and SBS Comedy. I've made long comics about cults, wealth, pick-up artists and A.I., and edited a big book for kids about comics-making called Squishbook.

In 2011 I co-founded Squishface Studio, Australia’s first open comics studio, which is now a comics/illustration workplace and event space at Studio Hall in South Melbourne.

I combine my visual and design skills to work with innovation teams, designers and ethical organisations on tricky service/strategic problems. Recently I've been at places like State Trustees, Orygen Digital and VCAT.
